his favorite fruit

Arriving over night, I brought home a ripe kiwi for my dad.
After slicing into the green flesh and spooning a few pieces of kiwi into this mouth,
he smiled and said it tasted like his favorite fruit.
My lovely father hasn't had his favorite fruit in so long
he'd forgotten what it tasted like.

After 20+ years of working on his feet,
I think it's about time the old man got to back to the islands.
I wish I could fly him back.
Damn.

Aaaaaaaha.

I saw Daaam Funk and felt like I was in high school again.

He was hella nice.

I met some old heads from Pomona.
After hearing so many stories about them,
and from the way folks talked about them,
I thought they'd be 6'5". At 5'11" they still looked like folks you wouldn't mess with though.
May showed them a picture of 3 year old Shae Shae with
her mouth full of caps. In return they showed us their phones with their babygirls as their
desktops. They're heart breakers for sure.

children's birthday party

Last Sunday I checked out Kayliana's 1st birthday.
Val had to entertain relatives,
so Raisa and I moseyed on over
to the bouncy bounce.
At 5'6" while fully stretched out and with feet extended,
my reach is quite amazing. I tried pulling myself into
the Hello Kitty jump house but lost my footing.
A couple of 3 year olds were at the bottom of the entrance and I swiped them over
with my legs. I felt their little bodies and looked back as they slowly lost their balance,
but I kept on going. Yup, I'm a go-getter.

I want to be here one day

Having started his 12 hour shift,
my dad arrived for work today 1/2 hr ago.
Hopefully we'll visit the sea and banana trees
sometime in this lifetime, but for now
this photo will sub for warm fruit and other thoughts that fill
my head at night.
