"each day is a chance to be better than yesterday "

artwork by Zèh Palito

Zèh Palito is a Brazilian artist who spent some time working for Development Aid From People to People in Zambia. Above are a few photos from his time there and some of his other art work. "All his work is related to love, happiness, and peace... things the world needs." He is amazing. Oftentimes in artwork dark colors are used to convey a problematic understanding of evil, negativity, some sort of antagonism, etc. etc. Palito's work presents audiences with black characters that are figures to find joy in, revel in, and are not racist symbols of simplified evil or the Other. His murals are refreshing to say the least. I hope to see many more of them soon. Check out more of his work on his Flickr stream.
