This reminds me of running around with bunches of plantains in the summer rain. Our heavy breathing and the surrounding moisture made days almost unbearable, but somehow we pushed past  everything including that unwavering glare against our Othered presence and arrived in our beds with just snippets of months of daylight to fill our heads.
