" I had a mobile phone and computer store back in Syria. It was completely looted during the fighting. I came here to find work, but I couldn't afford to bring my family with me. When I left, I kissed my son and told him that I was leaving, and I didn't know where I was going. He was crying so hard that we had to lock him in the house as I said goodbye to my wife. I haven't even met my second son."

"What are your happiest memories of your son?"

"every time I went to work, he'd run after me. And after I came home, he'd run to me." (Erbil, IraQ)

Here is just a little peek into today's character and Lettering workshop
held by Gorgs1at ESMOA. THERE WAS A CONSTANT FLOW OF VISITORS AT THE
MUSEUM, AND I SAW QUITE A FEW HAPPY FACES WALK AWAY WITH SOME ORIGINAL
ARTWORK BY THE MAN OF THE HOUR.  As always, fab work Gorgs!

Not gonna lie I hate clothes on animals, but I really love
these 3d goggles on these praying mantises!  Temporarily
attached by beeswax, the 3d goggles are being utilized
to help researchers investigate the mechanisms behind praying
mantises' 3d vision which will hopefully lend insight into advancing
3d vision technology in robotics.

back, back, forth and forth

Crazy times have been had over here. I thought I was pursuing a new career,
but got called back to 9 hour days of 4 year old laughter and insanity.
Oh life, you trickster, you! Anyway,  check out these animal can planters!
While I am a sucker for googly eyes, Misako Mimoko has captured
my heart with a fine utilization of beads for eyes- beady eyes if you will.
Beady eyes are the new googly eyes.  THank gahd! My hoarding heart was
afraid of a catastrophic depletion of my personal stash of googlies.
Beady eyes 2014!
